Latvian Poetry Days 22nd October 2022

Although it does not always happen as traditionally accepted - to hold Poetry Days in September, a poet from Latvia is always invited to visit Latvians in Dublin in autumn. Also this year. The long-awaited event took place on October 22 in Dublin at the Lutherhaus hall, where around fifty participants gathered. The Poetry Days event was complemented by an exhibition of paintings and handicrafts. For the past two years, the in-person events of Poetry Days were prevented by the Covid pandemic, so the Latvian Cultural Foundation in Ireland (LKFĪ) is especially happy that together with the organizer Venēras Vilovska ("Likteņdzirns") it was finally possible to gather poetry friends together in person again.

And not only. The event also featured an exhibition of paintings by artist Dana Sorokina and handicrafts by members of "Likteņdzirnas".

This was my large scale  "Surrounded with the spirit of laughter" and  "A Little Sunshine '' first public debut. Still unframed at that point , but they are going to be framed after this event. Both of them will be  exhibited and available to purchase afterwards at RDS later on at Art Source in three weeks time.
